Programme Specific Outcomes for B.Sc. Botany

  • The students on successful completion of B.Sc. Botany, they will acquire knowledge about medicinal plants, pharmacognosy, pharmacology, economic importance of useful plants, phytogeography, etc.

  • This knowledge will be helpful to get an employment opportunity in various governmental and non-governmental sectors.

  • The students are able to become entrepreneur and they can also start small scale industries like algal, fungal and bacterial biofertilizers unit, edible mushroom cultivation technology unit, nursery management, etc.

  • The graduates will be able to identify and analyse the morphological and anatomical features of plants, their structures and learn evolutionary history of plants.

Programme Specific Outcomes for M.Sc.Botany

  • On successful completion of PG botany the students will acquire knowledge about phytochemical, pharmacological and pharmacognostic aspects of higher plants.

  • They can improve their knowledge in preparing competitive examinations for getting employment in Government and public sector undertaking institutions.

  • The students will get idea about various scholarships and become eligible for JRF, SRF, and other relevant scholarships.

  • The students will learn various techniques of plant breeding to enable better crop production for human welfare and economic upliftment.

  • The students will acquire basic knowledge of biostatistics and learn its application in biological studies.

  • The students will learn the basic principles and research methodology, thesis writing and research publications.

Programme Specific Outcomes for M.Phil.Botany

  • On successful completion of M.Phil.degree,the students can gain knowledge about instrumentation technology used in biological sciences and eligible to get employability in hospitals, clinical laboratories and pharmaceutical industries.

  • The courses are in combination of general and specialized education, simultaneously introducing the concepts of breadth and depth in learning.

  • The present curriculum will not only advance their knowledge and understanding of the subject, but will also increase the ability of critical thinking, development of scientific attitude, handling of problems and generating solution, improve practical skills, enhance communication skill, social interaction, increase awareness in environment related issues and recognize the ethical value system.
